Updated In May, 2012 - Fulltilt Poker and Poker Stars have been bitter rivals for many years. Pokerstars has always held a huge advantage over Full Tilt Poker in years past. 2011 is looking very good for Full Tilt though. The main reasons why Pokerstars has always been more popular no longer exist. Full Tilt Poker has always had a smaller game variety and a mediocre VIP program while Pokerstars has had the best in the industry. With the inception of the Black Card VIP program and the software update which included many new games Full Tilt Poker can compete with Pokerstars on a level playing field. The Full Tilt Poker Vs Pokerstars debate has been going on for years at the major poker forums. Pokerstars had usually won but things are much closer in 2011. When you read the current Pokerstars Vs Fulltilt Poker debates you will notice that online poker players are choosing FTP more often than not. Before I go any further I suggest reading some of these Full Tilt Poker articles after you finish reading this one:
Maybe it is because Fulltilt Poker is the easier of them two rooms to deposit at. Maybe it is because of the fastest cashouts available at FTP. Maybe it is the new innovations that can not be found at Pokerstars. These include Rush Poker, Multi-entry tournaments, Tournaments On Demand, 10-Game Poker and more.
Pokerstars still has more daily traffic than Full Tilt Poker but that lead gets narrower every week. Fulltilt offers more card games than any other poker room including Poker Stars so that is certainly a big factor. Despite their name, Pokerstars has very few actual "Poker Stars" and little to no high stakes action. Full Tilt Poker is home to twice as many professional players and the largest pots in online poker.
Every day you can watch world famous players compete for $100,000-$500,000 pots. Check out the high stakes PLO, mixed game and Hold'em tournaments any time of the day and you will see at least one high stakes match with huge pots. FTP's Red Pro's also play at the smaller stakes tables and tournaments. If you knock a Red Pro out of a tournament there is a bounty equal to that of the buy-in.
I have always favored Pokerstars but nowadays I have to give the title of the internet's best poker room to Fulltilt Poker. Support at Pokerstars is an utter joke. I recently tried to cashout some money and they rejected it three times and wasted nearly 2 weeks, for no reason at all. Pokerstars support personnel are utterly incompetent and they treat players like garbage. When you add that to the other factors mentioned on this page Full Tilt is the clear winner. The problem with Pokerstars is that they are so big. They no longer care about the average player. They are arrogant and cannot see that they are losing loyal players in the thousands every week. There have also been reports of Pokerstars ripping players off for minor reasons (or no reason at all). Poker Stars was once a great room but they are not anymore. They have disillusioned many of their players and FTP is taking more and more of them every day, and treating them the way they should be treated.
I know some of you may opt to play at Pokerstars over Full Tilt Poker. I have to admit that Poker Stars has a few features that are not available at FTP. I would be remiss in my duties if I did not offer you a exclusive bonus deal at Pokerstars. I have provided an overview of the special bonuses you will receive when you sign-up at Pokerstars and enter our unique codes:
That is quite a bonus package. In regards to bonuses the Pokerstars Vs Fulltilt Poker debate is not as clear-cut as it is above. To claim these bonuses you will need to do three things:
And that concludes this Pokerstars vs Fulltilt Poker 2011 edition.
